American Blackbelt offers Jiu Jitsu training. We have beginner classes for those who are just starting out and advanced classes for students with experience in the art. Jiu Jitsu is a style of martial art that is based on ground defense. Our classes are set up so students participating in Jiu-Jitsu classes can expect a friendly and structured environment focused on learning basic to advanced techniques and the principles of Jiu-Jitsu. Students will be taught all aspects of Jiu-Jitsu including self-defense with emphasis on technique and leverage over physical size and strength. By using your partners balance, momentum, and clothing against them you will gain an advantage. We will teach you how to use joint manipulations, air and blood flow manipulations, proper body positioning, including submission techinques. We will also cover stand up, and take downs for ground fighting.
Our students train without fear of injury, this is due to our mission statement: Martial Arts begins and ends with respect. All students understand when a particular hold or move starts to feel uncomfortable or painful that person "taps out" imediatly both partners stop and release their holds, then the training partners will resume training from a neutral position. Submission or "tapping out" is a way to review where you need more practice with furter instruction, and allows you to continue training without injury. These techniques you learn will be used in real life situations where personal safety is the most important piece for you and your family. Remember the street fighter thug does not deserve or recieve any respect. Although our classes are intense and vigorous, our instructors recognize that each student is an individual with a different goals each student will progress at their own rate. All promotions are based on their effort, spirit, training, and martial skill.
